
PRE-PLANNING TIPS
1) Print hard copy of travel documents (Passport, Government issued ID, Set Sail pass, cruise tickets, luggage tags, etc.) in case issues or questions arise. For the event of emergencies, print a second copy and leave it with a trusted friend or relative. Figure 1 Purchase luggage tags from Amazon to properly identify your suitcases.
2) Don’t forget to pack your Bible, study tools, highlighters, etc. Classes will be hosted on the ship. 3) Pack light & look into ways to wear pants/ skirt more than once with different shirt/blouse, or accessorize differently. Don’t forget a light jacket for cool/chilly nights & comfy shoes for touring. 4) Pack a flash light/night light in case of emergencies. Pack trash bags for trash, dirty laundry, etc.
Packing & Preparation Checklist
- Bible, Apocrypha, Notebooks, Pens & Highlighters
- Make sure to pack required travel documents i.e.
passport, driver’s license, and birth certificate. If you
have a passport you do not need your driver’s license
and birth certificate. If you do not have a passport you
must have your driver’s license and birth certificate
(names on birth certificate and driver’s license MUST
MATCH). Make sure to call the cruise line if you are
unsure about the required documents.
SHIP BOARDING TIPS
1) Check in online at least 3 days before your departure- this saves you time when you arrive at the ship. Figure 2 Download Royal Caribbean mobile app & you are able to check in now! 2) Unpack completely. The stateroom space is limited. Bring a shoe rack to store miscellaneous items, and extra hangers to hang belongings in closet. You can place your suitcases under your bed to save space as well. 3) Remember to put your phone in airplane mode to avoid roaming fees. Keep in mind, the ship time remains the same. Your phone will change time based on location. Purchase an inexpensive watch and set it to the ship time or set a time zone similar to the ship time on your
phone. Departure time from the port is based on the ship time, not the local time.
4) The walls are metal. Consider bringing magnetic
hooks to hang jackets, head coverings, etc. to save
space as well
- Make sure that the spelling of your name that Royal
Caribbean has on file is correct compared to your
identification documents. - If you plan on attending any shore excursions make
sure to pre-book them before sailing. Excursions can be
purchased on-board as well. - Make sure to assign to sign up for on-board
entertainment i.e. live shows/performances while
cruising - If you take medication make sure to pack it in a carry-on bag so you can always have it on you along with your
required identification documents and insurance card. - For your protection make sure that your passport
expiration date does not occur within 6 months of the
sailing return date of 01/06/2018. - Lawful swimwear
- Comfortable shoes to explore each destination
- Sneakers for excursions or gym exercise
- 4 or more pairs of shorts/skirts
- 6 to 7 casual shirts/dresses
- 7 to 10 pairs of under garments
TIPS & HACKS WHILE ON THE SHIP
1) Make a spending budget for yourself before the cruise. Keep track of the expenses you make with your SeaPass card to avoid overspending and to stay within your budget. Your expense amount will be displayed on your stateroom T.V. daily.
2) Create a schedule of the things you would like to do while on the ship. Pre-book if possible. You can research the available activities in the app or online.
3) Research drink package deals before the cruise. You can also take advantage of the “drink of the day” deals and cheaper drinks during port days. Plus, you are able to bring 2 bottles of wine on ship, place in your carry-on bag. Be aware of a corkage fee if you drink outside your stateroom.
4) Do not drink the condiments in the room. It is not free.

- Sanitary Wipes, Hand Sanitizer, Lysol (It is extremely
easy to get sick on a cruise ship) - Tags for luggage
- Bring cash for Taxi’s on the Island’s if you plan on
purchasing anything from vendors off the ship.
TIPS & HACKS WHEN ON SHORE
1) Inform your bank that you are traveling to avoid credit cards from being frozen. It is best to bring cash for shopping instead. ATM Fees are substantial 2) Sisters, avoid bringing purses along. Purchase a small fanny pack or small backpack to keep your hands free. Brothers can bring a backpack also.
3) Stay close with your assigned groups. Do not leave no one behind and make sure to arrive back to the ship on time before it departs. 4) Bring rain poncho or mini-umbrella in your bag when touring/exploring the cities

1) Purchase non-drowsy Dramamine motion sickness relief. There is an option for kids also.
2) Bring hand soap, Hand sanitizer, and antibacterial wipes (medical grade) to wipe down cabin to avoid Norovirus 3) Outlets are limited in your stateroom. Bring power strip & USB port charging strip to accommodate your electrical needs. Figure 3 You can purchase a cruise power strip from Amazon 4) Bring along with you a leak-proof container todrink fluids (water, tea, juice, etc.)
